Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee, and this week's question is:
Q: In light of the Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?
My favorite fairy tale would probably be Cinderella, because...doesn't everyone love that story? I haven't read many stories about fairies, but two series that I want to read that involve them are: The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa and the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. They both look like good series and I really want to get them soon, so I can read them!
The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books.
Q: When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?
This is a really good question, but it's hard to have an answer. I've always loved reading, since I was in Kindergarten, and I always have to have a book that I am currently reading. But, I guess I didn't truly start feeling like reading was my passion until I started reading young adult books and I realized how much I loved reading them. Probably when I was around twelve years old, I knew that reading was an important part in my life.
TGIF at Greads! is hosted by Greads! and this weeks question was:
Q: Where is your ideal place to take a summer vacation & get lost in a book?
My ideal place to get lost in a book would definitely be at the beach: the sun, the sand, and the waves. But, I'm not always able to get to the beach, so the next best thing would be: to sit by my pool, with my feet in the water, and read a good book. Hopefully, I'll be able to do one of these things soon, if the rain goes away!
You must read both series! They are both excellent. Cinderella seems to be a really popular choice, I personally love it and now feel a need to rush out and watch it again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I'm now following you.

ReplyDeleteThe Iron Fey series is great. Highly recommend it. I tried the Wicked Lovely series but it didn't really do much for me.

I know what you mean, it's all about finding a genre you really love. For me, it's Paranormal Romance, but I've also been reading a lot of YA lately too!

Hiya! Thanks for stopping by <3 I'm following as well. I wouldn't have honestly thought of Cinderella as a fairy story, but that's an awesome choice.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I want to read the Julia Kagawa series too, looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteWicked Lovely book 1 is great and definitely worth a read.
Have a great weekend. :D
When did I first realize I loved reading? I wish I could prove a pre-natal predilection towards books but my memories don’t stretch back quite that far.
ReplyDeleteThe earliest memories I can recall involved books. First having them read to me then reading them on my own the minute I had the ability.
Books have been a major part of my life ever since. My passion for the written word knowing no bounds, I started writing books on top of reading them about ten years ago.
Want to know what my favorite childhood book was? Hop on over to my blog and find out: http://www.howardsherman.net

@barmybex Thanks for stopping by my blog! Those are both series that I really need to read soon. Hope you have a good weekend also!
I think I'd have to say my ideal summer vacation is a house on a lake that has a hammock and a tire swing. And, of course, a large pile of books. I wish I were there already!
ReplyDeleteThe Iron Fey series was fabulous, Wicked Lovely didn't really do so much for me. But I'll still probably read the next book just to see what happens if I see it.

Haha, I loved the mice in Cinderella. "Gus, Gus, Gus..." lol. Too cute, for sure. Though, I think I totally tend to lean towards Snow White and Belle, because they're two of the few who are actually brunette's. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuz @ A Soul Unsung
@Alison Thanks for stopping by!
